Greetings Robros! The year of 2021 is approaching it’s close and we’re excited to update everyone on some new developments to lead us into the coming new year.
Since onboarding the first class of Operators we have more than 1,200 unique Rovies claimed and ready for deployment in Decentraland! The initial crews released will set the foundation for the play to earn economy in the metaverse by hosting essential METAs that will serve the player base with core gameplay functionalities into the future.
Before we get into the details of how this will be achieved, first we’re happy to share that we have completed several community requested features to improve the Rovi experience! With the following updates made, rarity assessments will be much easier for 3rd party platforms such as rarity.tools.
Rovi Improvements
Rovi Body Parts
With this new update Rovies now have clearly defined body parts adding to their uniqueness from one another. The 5 new body part classifications the have been added as Rovi properties are below.
- Arms
- Chest
- Eyes
- Head
- Legs
Rovi Names
Instead of each Rovi being known by their crew name, they are now to be known by the AI codex assigned to them at unboxing day. Also the Rovies perfection score will be on display next to the name. Example of how the new Rovi names will appear on Opensea is below.
Rovi Backgrounds
Now that names have been changed and no longer display which crew a Rovi belongs to, the background has been added to each Rovi to indicate their classification. The crew a Rovi belongs to is a badge of honor and will forever represent their order of introduction into the Roviverse. Future operators will know and regard these first three crews as founding members to the game verse.
Supercharger / Transporter Deployment
Next development goal is to enable the deployability of every Transporter and Supercharger META. This will allow Decentraland land owners to install this content onto their lands to initiate the META rollout process for the Roviverse. From this point on additional METAs will be added to support and expand the game ecosystem.
New METAs in Construction
Next phase once Supercharger and Transporter METAs are deployable is to unleash additional METAs that will bring in more gameplay functionalities that will be core to the economic sustainability of the Roviverse. Below are two of the METAs that are in production and will soon be available for land owner hosting. More details on schedule of release and hosting cost will be released soon.
It’s important to remember that building a metaverse game that is owned and operated by the community is unlike anything ever attempted in the gaming sphere. Distribution of game content creates many new challenges that need careful consideration to ensure optimal economic conditions are upheld and incentives remain aligned for land owners to host and maintain the game content. Thanks to MetaZone this process is a reality and every Rovi Operator participating in this ecosystem is trailblazing a new model for future generations of metaverse game creators to leverage.

Community Growth
Our community of metaverse pioneers continues to grow by the day. More than 2500 members are in the Metazone/Rovi discord now and are actively contributing to the discussions guiding development of the ecosystem. Every week we have community discord calls on Mondays 6pm UTC unless rescheduling occurs. Be sure to attend to stay up to date on the latest news regarding Rovies development and to receieve a POAP NFT!
Last Chance to Join the Rovi Testers Guild
A couple of weeks ago during one of our community calls we announced the testers guild initiative to begin taking volunteers from the community who want to take on the responsibility of game testing when its needed. Members of this elite tester crew will be rewarded with a unique accessory exclusive to the contributors who help with the teams development goals.
We will leave the registration form open for 2 more weeks and officially close it on December 12th 6pm UTC. If you would like to join this guild of contributors, you can do so here.
The One and ONLY Chang Gang Hosts Rovi Community Call 🔥
The team will be sharing the discord stage with our fellow community leaders and partners from Chang Gang this Thursday at 5pm EST. We look forward to seeing the Rovi community attend and have the opportunity to grill the team with any questions in mind. As everyone knows, we’re all about maximum transparency and want to ensure the community is aligned with the founding teams vision. We will be selecting a winner randomly from the discord to receive a Rovi Transporter as well. Hope to see everyone there!
Rovies First Social Network
Big shoutout to TreWaters for the amazing contribution in building the Roviverses first social networking site! This is such a cool idea and brings to life each Rovi by giving the opportunity to present a backstory for them. We love the concept so much we have initiated a community contest to see who can generate the best lore background for their own Rovi!
To participate in the Rovi story contest and begin populating your backstory, DM @trewaters in the community discord. The writeathon will continue until December 31st. From then the community will decide which story is the best and the writer given a special prize! Each writer will receive a unique POAP NFT for their contributions.

Rovi is a PFP project of 10,101 unique battle bots that are playable in the metaverse running on the Polygon network. Each bot comes from MetaZone that has built a procedurally generated engine to make each bot random and unique. Rovies can battle each other to earn tokens in Decentraland and also play in the Polygon powered RoviMatrix! MetaZone is a platform that has enabled any creator to make their own 10,000 procedurally generated 3D NFT characters right from the platform and all characters will exist on the Polygon network
